Foxhunt for May 15th, 2011

Dan Meyer, N0PUF was the fox for this hunt. Dan is one of the top mechanics at a local Chevy dealer and it was his job to test drive a car and see if he could make it fault to aid in his diagnosis of the problem. Instead of just driving up and down standard city streets, he decided to combine a search for a good hiding place for a hidden transmitter with his check out of the ailing car in question.

While driving past the South Platte Dan found his spot. The transmitters were 3 in number. The primary "drive to" beacon was located a block and a bit south of Evans along the banks of the South Platte. Two other transmitters were hidden in the area, one on the east and one on the west banks of the river. There was a walking bridge making the river crossing quick and easy.

Here are (l to r) Benjie Campbell - W0CBH, George Riedmuller - N0NJM, Larry Benko - W0QE and Chris Krengel - KB0YRZ standing by the high speed biking path on the west bank of the Platte.
