MS 150 Repeater Net Operations

Repeater Network

Everything is tentative. On the day of the event check with Net Control Stations if you are unsure which frequency you should switch to when transitioning from one geographic area to the next.

All offsets are standard unless otherwise specified. Tone requirements indicated.

note: Medical only on 70 cm please. Medical will be monitoring 446.150 MHz simplex to attempt to cover dead spots in the route.

Day 1

bulletHighlands Ranch to Monument Colorado
bullet145.220 MHz (103.5 Hz tone optional) - This Rocky Mountain Radio League repeater is located on Green Mountain and looks down the front range towards Monument. There should be pretty reliable coverage with few drop outs along the way. The tone  encoding for the RMRL repeaters is usually optional on 2 meters. However you will need to KEY down for 1 full second before beginning your transmission for the kerchunk filter to allow you to access the repeater if it is not already active. Once it is up and repeating transmissions, the delay is not necessary.
bulletPortable Repeater
bullet449.100 MHz (103.5 Hz) Bob Ragain will setup a portable repeater for Medical and high priority general traffic.
bulletMonument to Colorado Springs
bullet146.970 MHz (100 Hz tone Required) - This Pikes Peak FM Association repeater is located on the summit of Pikes Peak. This gives it exceptionally good coverage out east. However, it is possible along the front range to be shadowed by the local terrain (foothills) sometimes making connections through it difficult. These areas should be minimal. The 100 Hz tone is REQUIRED on this repeater.
bullet448.450 MHz (100 Hz tone Required) - This Pikes Peak FM Association repeater is located on the summit of Pikes Peak. This gives it exceptionally good coverage out east. However, it is possible along the front range to be shadowed by the local terrain (foothills) sometimes making connections through it difficult. These areas should be minimal. The 100 Hz tone is REQUIRED on this repeater.

Day 2

bulletColorado Springs to "somewhere" south along State Highway 115
bullet146.970 MHz (100 Hz tone required) - This Pikes Peak FM Association repeater is located on the summit of Pikes Peak. This repeater will cover the start of day 2, and intermittently work down State Highway 115.  The 100 Hz tone is REQUIRED on this repeater.
bullet448.450 MHz (100 Hz tone) - This Pikes Peak FM Association repeater is located on the summit of Pikes Peak. Same coverage as 146.970. The 100 Hz tone is REQUIRED on this repeater.
bulletPortable Repeater
bullet449.100 MHz (103.5 Hz) Bob Ragain will setup a portable repeater for Medical and high priority general traffic. This day two setup is tentative but keep this frequency in mind and try it if you are out of contact with everything else.
bulletAround Cañon City and Royal Gorge
bullet145.490 MHz (103.5 Hz) repeater - Not sure just when you will drive into range of this repeater. Listen to the nets, monitor 145.490 from time to time and when it's better than any Colorado Springs repeater, check out of the Springs net and into the Cañon City net.
bullet146.880 MHz (88.5 Hz required) backup. (Pueblo Repeater)
